Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech - Imlil - Camp Tachdirt

After a 64 km journey, you will arrive in Imlil where you will meet your local team consisting of a guide, cook, and mutual men. After a shared welcoming mint tea, you will load your luggage and stuff onto the back mule and follow your guide’s traces to Tizi Tamatert at 2260m. You will be rewarded with a beautiful view through the Oukaimeden at 3200m, Angour at 3650m, and Bouyguenoune at 3700m. The timing for this trek is 5 hours, with a positive elevation of 600m and negative elevation.

Day 2TACHVERT Camp - Azib Likemt

You will have an early breakfast to start a three-hour walk to Tizi Likemt at 3550m. The ascent is not so steep but longer, which is why it’s best to start in the shadow climate. You will spend the night at Azib Likemt, a summer place where most cheap and goat owners depend on holidays with their animals. The timing for this trek is 6 hours, with a positive elevation of 1250m and negative elevation of 950m.

Day 3Azib Likemt - Amsouzarte

You will take a promenade to the Tinzar valley to Tizi N-Ourai at 3200m, which offers a beautiful landscape in a large space on the Tifnoute valley. Then, you will zigzag descent in the center of Amsouzarte, where you will spend the night in a guest house. You can visit the villages around the afternoon. The timing for this trek is 6 hours, with a positive elevation of 500m and negative elevation of 1500m.

Day 4Amsouzarte - Lake Ifni

This is the shortest day of the trek, where you will walk in the morning and keep the afternoon to relax near Lake Ifni, a hidden lake between two mountain ranges. You will camp near the lake, and the timing for this trek is 6 hours, with a positive elevation of 1250m and negative elevation of 950m.

Day 5Ifni Lake - Mont Toubkal - Toubkal Refuge

This day involves a nice promenade challenge to the top of Toubkal, which is 4167m high. It’s an incredible ascent that will need a well-prepared person, especially on what is linked to the psychic side. A deep zigzagurgic ascent is in advance until you reach the top, after which you will join the Toubkal base camp. There’s a possibility to take a hot shower in the refuge. The timing for this trek is 6 hours, with a positive elevation of 1250m and negative elevation of 950m.

Day 6Toubkal Refuge - Imlil - Marrakech

On the last day of the trek, you will walk through the Imlil valley by the sanctuary of Chamharrouch. After a few kilometers, you will reach the Imlil village, where you will have a meal before being taken back to Marrakech.

Overall, the Grand Atlas Circuit Pack is a challenging yet rewarding trek that takes you through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Morocco. It’s important to be well-prepared both physically and mentally for the ascent to Toubkal.
