This 6-day trek in Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains begins with an arrival in Marrakech, allowing time to explore the vibrant city. On the second day, you head to Imlil, meet your trekking team, and embark on a hike to Neltner Refuge, gradually gaining altitude. The following days bring challenging ascents to Toubkal, Timesguida, Ras, Akioud, and AfellaN’Ouanoukrim, offering breathtaking vistas. Each night is spent in mountain refuges or campsites, immersing you in the rugged beauty of the Atlas Mountains. On the final day, you descend from Tizi Mzik and return to Imlil, concluding your trek with a transfer back to Marrakech, leaving you with enduring memories of this stunning mountain adventure.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Marrakech

Arrival in Marrakech-Pick up at the airport and transfer to the Riad Free time to get to know Marrakech with the famous Jamaa el Fena square, its palaces, its gardens… Accommodation in a Riad near the famous Jamaa el Fena square.

Day 2Imli(1740m) - Chamharouch(2310m) - Neltner Refuge(3207m)

After breakfast at the Riad we leave in the direction of Asni, it takes us 1:30h to reach Imlil (1740m) meeting point with the team that will accompany you during the days of the route (mountain guide, cook muleteers, mules). After loading all the luggage and the necessary material, we start the route going up through the Imlil valley to Armed 1900m. Then we continue walking to Chamharouch (2310m) where the people of the pilgrimage country come to their marabout on the white rock. We will eat the picnic here, we will have some tea, we will rest for a while. Then we continue to the refuge (3207m) where we lodge. Day of 5 to 6 hours of walking

Day 3Tizi N Toubkal(3971 m) - Toubkal Queste (4030 m) - Toubkal(4167m) - Imouzzer(4010m) - Neltner Refuge(3207m)

We have breakfast early and leave the refuge, We tackle the first stony climb, then smooth out a bit to tiziN’Toubkal (3971m) where we gain altitude. We turn right to climb the first 4000m, which is Toubkal Oeste (4030m), little known but it is worth going up and contemplating its views, then we continue climbing the last slope to reach the top of Toubkal (4167m), we enjoy the views from this height, seeing the desert plain, the valleys of the area… We continue crossing the North port to reach the Imouzzer summit (4010 m). We return to the refuge through a different valley called Ikhibi north. Night in the same shelter. Day of 7 to 8 hours of walking

Day 4Neltner Refuge - Tizi N'Ouagane (3750m) -Timesguida (4089m) -Ras(4083m) - Neltner Refuge

After having rested, we begin the day climbing the Tizi N’Ouagane pass (3750m) to gain altitude and enjoy the spectacular views that nature offers. From the east port we go up a little more and reach Timesguida peak (4089 m) we contemplate the wonderful view of this peak and then we jump to Ras peak (4083 m). We will return through the NE channel passing through IrhezBouLmhraz to the same refuge at the beginning of the day’s stage. Day of 6 to 7 hours of walking

Day 5Neltner Refuge - Akioud(4030m) - Tizi Afella(3900m) - AfellaN'Ouanoukrim(4043m) - Tizi Melloul (3875m) - Tamsoulte Refuge (2300m)

We start today’s stage with a fairly strong ascent to the Akioud peak (4030m). We admire the panorama from this point, then we will have to cross the Afella pass (3900m) to reach the summit of AfellaN’Ouanoukrim (4043m). We will jump over the Melloul port (3875m) to descend to the Tamsoulte refuge (2300m) where we will spend the night. Day of 8 to 9 hours of march

Day 6The final climb of this mountain takes us across the Tizi Mzik - transfer back to Marrakech

The final climb of this mountain takes us across the Tizi Mzik covered in Junipers with the reward of a magnificent view across to the summit of Ouanoukrim and over the beautiful valley of Imlil. We descend on a good trail to reach Imlil from where you will transfer back to Marrakech
