Itinerary

Day 1Airport of Marrakech - Imlil

Pick up from the airport to your accommodation in imlil 1:30 from Marrakech

Day 2 Imlil - Refuge

From the small village of Imlil you will start your trek. Along the Mizane Valley, we first pass through the village of Aremd and then towards the sanctuary of Sidi Chamarouch. You then continue east and as you cross the floodplains your route takes you along mule tracks and up to the high rocky cliffs above the valley. Crossing the river you finally reach the pastoral sanctuary of Sidi Chamarouch, which attracts tourists and pilgrims. From here the trail continues to climb steadily, winding and zigzagging up to the snow line and refuge (3206m). Here you will spend the night. About 5 to 6 hours walking

Day 3Jebel Toukbal - Imlil

Early in the morning, try to reach the top of Jebel Toukbal, the highest peak in North Africa. Your route ascends the south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge. The walk is relatively easy, but the scree and altitude will make the going quite difficult in parts. The views along the way make the trip worth it. When you reach the top, you will see that the views of the surrounding landscape are impressive. From here there are unlimited views in every direction, from the Marrakech plain to the High Atlas in the north and as far south as the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara. You will retrace your steps when you come down the mountain and head towards Imlil. Around 8 to 9 hours walking.

Day 4Imlil - Tizi n'Tichka - Dades valley

Pick up at your riad in Imlil. First we cross the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass of the High Atlas Mountains. You will pass many Berber villages, and once in the desert, riverside oases and arid hillsides are clustered with Kasbahs. After lunch we head towards the Valley of the Roses, beautiful views of the Dades valley, the valley of a thousand kasbahs. On the way to Dades you can visit Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. Night in Dades.

Day 5Dades - Todra Gorge - Erg Chebbi dunes

After breakfast, we drive to Todra Gorge and after a short stop, we drive to Erg Chebbi dunes. We will arrive there around 4 and after a short rest; you will ride a camel towards the dunes, where you will spend the night in Berber tents. After watching a beautiful sunset, you will enjoy a fantastic dinner.

Day 6Lodge - Marrakech

After watching the most beautiful sunrise and having breakfast at the camp, you will ride the camel back to the lodge. From there it will be a long day driving back to Marrakech, again through the Tichka pass.
